First off I have to give a shout out to Pretty Much Amazing. These guys are in my opinion the best source of good quality music info on the web. My website is maybe 1/100th of what they have to offer. So if you haven't already added these guys to your favourites list make sure you do - you will not be dissappointed.
ok on to The Streets.
Well what can you say Mike Skinner is pulling a retirement (possibly), but it sounds like he is pretty serious in this regard. This to me is a very sad sad day. I can remember the first time listening to Original Pirate Material and thought wow this is a whole new beginning for me when it comes to the way I listen to music. The talent that lies with The Streets is amazing and something that has had me hooked since day one. A Grand Don't Come For Free was outstanding in every way. That album is so smart and poetic from start to finish. Well a couple records after that and now we have the conclusion to the career of The Streets. 'Close the Book' is really a big wave good bye and thanks for the memories type of tune. No lyrics just a somber tone that makes you think about all those great songs that came before it. It is Skinner's "!" to The Streets.
