Here is the moment all of us Arcade Fire fans have been waiting for - NEW SONGS.  Yep here are the first listens of  'Culture War' and 'Speaking In Tongues' (courtesy of LBYB).  Zane Lowe is set to have the world premiere of both songs tonight.  The Deluxe version of The Suburbs will be released on June 28th.  Here is Zane's words from his blog about the two new tunes...

"It's very rare that we would do two Hottest Records in a night, but picking between these two new Arcade Fire songs would be impossible, and to be fair interest in the both of them is enormous. Add to the fact that Win Butler spoke to us exclusively about their new music and new film; it was a no-brainer!"

  1. I've gotta tell ya- The Suburbs is definitely my least favorite Arcade Fire album.

  2. It definitely is more Radio friendly then the others.

    I would rank them
    1) Funeral (perfect album)
    2) Neon Bible (This could be #1 for me but Funeral is too good)
    3) The Suburbs (The more I listen the more I continue to like it)

So yeah I agree with you but I still love this album. I feel AF are more of that early Radiohead sound that I adored back in the day. I haven't been disappointed with any of the 3 albums to date.

  3. I agree with that ranking. I find Neon Bible to be severely underrated. The Suburbs just feels too bloated to me. There's a tight, concise, dynamite 10 track album buried in there. It also lacks the subtlety of their earlier stuff- very blunt.

  4. I love Neon Bible - I never understood why people bash it out of the 3 albums. I see what you mean with The Suburbs being dragged out, but I have to say I don't mind the extra songs, it is more of a soundtrack type of feel to it - makes you want some video to go along with it. Their current Tour that is how they portray it as well with a big screen movie going on while they are performing. Maybe this deluxe edition will make more sense.
