Say what you want about Arcade Fire- but they sure know how to market the hell out of a concept. Here is the thirty-minute short film, "Scenes From The Suburbs" based on their 2010 juggernaut album The Suburbs. Acclaimed director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Where the Wild Things Are) is behind the helm. Arcade Fire lead singer, Win Butler, has a co-writing credit for the screenplay along with Jonze and his brother, Will. The surreal, Orwellian story chronicles a group of high school friends and the events which transpire when martial law is declared on their cookiecutter suburbia in a bizarro alternate reality. Take a half hour and indulge yourself in this thoughtfully made film.
