Coldplay Announce New Album MYLO XYLOTO

Leave it to a band as boring as Coldplay to name their new album after something as dull and lifeless as an eye-test at the optometrists office. Now I'm not sure that's where the idea for Mylo Xyloto came from- but it's an effective coping mechanism for dealing with this anti-music so I'm just going to roll with it.

Apparently to counter the shallow slightness of their own sound, Coldplay has decided to feature crazy neon graffiti as album artwork. I'm getting a very Joel Schumacher/Batman Forever vibe from this thing. A Coldplay album with a Joel Schumacher vibe *shudder*.

Mylo Xyloto will be released October 25. On September 12, the band will release "Paradise" their second single from the album. You can find the video for the album's first single "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" below. Yes- those are the real track names. Coldplay is in full Aldous Snow/African Child territory. And I'm not sure they even realize it's happening.

  1. How pretentious can this article get? If you don't like them, don't right about them. But to be honest it's the least you'd expect from a Radiohead fanboy.

  2. "Anti music"

Could you get any more stuck up? Certified moron.

  3. Am I not allowed to have an opinion? If I'm not- I wasn't aware of this. You're right... from now on, no opinions- from anyone- ever. Unless they are your opinions of course.

  4. Your pen is an extension of your toxic mind! Why are you on the planet?

  5. Who said anything about being on the planet?
