Owen "Ghost Town"

Owen, the solo project of Mike Kinsella (Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, The One Up Downstairs, American Football), released his sixth studio album last week. Known for its soft melodies, complex acoustics, and combining lead acoustics with keys and electric guitar, his new album "Ghost Town," isn't far behind. The opening track "Too Many Moons," slow and fingerpicked with subtle instruments coming and going. Tracks like the "Armoire" combines both acoustic finger picking to an electric guitar solo towards the middle. "No Language" is one of the albums more upbeat and poppy songs, but has an excellent use of the acoustic and electric combination you hear throughout the whole album. The album has a definite indie folk sound to it, I especially enjoy the use of multiple instruments, while keeping a consistant theme and sound throughout the album. Two thumbs up, well done.
