Blind Pilot reased their debut album, "3 Rounds and a Sound" in 2009. I think the main reason Blind Pilot had such an initial impact on me was the subtle arrangement and craftsmanship of the songs. "Go On Say It" is no exception to this being a perfect example as the song starts out with the simple strumming of guitar and a basic drum beat, which actually stay constant throughout the whole song. Half way through the song violins make an entrance. The whole album as a certain subtle sound and sincerity to it that continues onto their followup album released in September of 2011, "We Are the Tide."
Anyways, I am not trying to do a super in depth review of the albums, we all know how great they are. I simply want to state that Blind Pilot for one, is an incredible indie folk band. And secondly, they will be playing a show at Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City this Saturday January 28th and you will be missing out unless you go! Check back after Saturday for photos and a live review of the show.
