Once upon a time there was a band called Crystal Skulls who released a few albums. I had been patiently waiting and waiting for a new release, wondering if Crystal Skulls were even still a band. One sunny afternoon I found out two of the members Christian Wargo and Casey Wescott joined the Fleet Foxes, which I want to take a moment to say I am more than ok with.
Starting off as a long distant project with demos sent back and fourth while Wargo and Wescott were touring in support of the Fleet Foxes debut album. Brothers Ian and Peter Murray (The Christmas Cards) were living in the Bay Area. Their first shows were intimate Seattle house parties where they used playful throwaway names such as, Rabbit Kingdom. Things began to take form when the band opened up for "Deakin" at Seattles Neumos. Now signed to Sub Pop and under the name Poor Moon, the four members are releasing their debut EP "Illusion" on March 27th.
