CONCERT PREVIEW - Delta Spirit with JEFF the Brotherhood at Chicago's House of Blues November 19th

Delta Spirit
Another fantastic show rolls through Chicago this Monday, November 19th as Fidlar and JEFF the Brotherhood opens for Delta Spirit. Tickets are still available here.

JEFF the Brotherhood
JEFF the Brotherhood are out on tour pressing the release of their latest album Hypnotic Nights which was put out via Warner Brothers Records this past July. The duo, consisting of two brothers from Nashville, TN, enlisted Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys to help produce the album. JEFF the Brotherhood member Jamin stated was the first time the group used an outside producer to assist with an album; obviously not a bad guy to bring in for the first crack at an outside influence on an album.

The band's gritty, stoned-garage-rock sound is sure to translate genuinely to a live setting; check out the group's heavy and enjoyable performance from Conan this past week... or as heavy as anything with a flute-solo could be. CoCo even gives a little bump to the show this Monday at House of Blues - Chicago before the performance as well.

California-based Delta Spirit have seemed on the rise to absolute stardom for quite a while now, and I shamefully have not listened to the hype until just recently, thanks to a staffer here at FPT. He is ultimately jealous as Delta Spirit has become one of his favorite (as well as many close friends') live performances to catch. Sorry Nick, enjoy Milwaukee Monday night.

The group is out on tour with a third studio album under their belt (Delta Spirit) which was released in March of 2012. The album features enough familiarity to offer long-time fans new tracks to get excited about, while maintaining the soulful and congregational sound that will draw in new listeners. Nevertheless, the band is known for their powerful live performances.

Check out my favorite track off the new album (and one of my favorites of the last year), "Tear It Up" being performed live at Austin City Limits in October.
