WRITER WANTED - Journalist Student (SLC, UT)

Fake Plastic Tunes is a collective of individuals who have come together with a common interest in the art of music. Based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, we are a diverse group living in different cities, states, and countries, able to set aside all differences and share a common, simple goal: to share the music we appreciate and love with you through reviews, live documentation, artist interviews and more.

Do you love music?  Love going to concerts, and love telling people about the last great show you attended?  Fake Plastic Tunes is a local Salt Lake City music blog that first started out in 2009 and has grown to the point where we need help covering local live shows.  We average around 500 page views a day and 400,000+ since the start of 2010.  FPT is often getting requests for Guest/Press Passes to concerts around the city in exchange for a Live Preview/Reviews, but we don’t have the staff to make it out to all the shows.

We are looking for individuals that are currently journalist students and looking to get some of their work online for others to see.  This position would be responsible for attending 3-4 concerts around the city each month and posting live previews/reviews from those shows.  You would also be welcome to do any extra writing such as album reviews, band interviews, or just posting about a brand new tune that you love.  It is an unpaid gig but comes with a bunch of great music perks and bonuses.

·         Free Guest List spots/Press passes/ Photo Passes to Concerts in the Salt Lake City area

·         Tons of free music (seriously you will never have to buy music again)

·         Advance copies of albums for Review

·         Opportunities to interview your favorite bands/artists

·         Music Contacts: PR companies, Record Labels, Venues, Artists themselves

·         You get your work published online with an established music blog which receives 500+ page views a day on average and 400,000+ views since 2010.
